Woman In Hospital Following B&E

Quesnel, B.C. – A Quesnel woman is in hospital having been assaulted in a Quesnel home this morning.
RCMP in Quesnel say an unknown male broke into a residence in the 4000 block of the Quesnel-Hixon road early this morning.Police say it appears this was a random act and the victim was not targeted.
Quesnel woman is being treated at G.R. Baker Hospital after sustaining injuries during an early morning break and enter.
The suspect is described as a white male with a full beard and a deep voice, wearing a hoody and a dark coloured jacket. It is believed this male may have been picked up by a vehicle after this incident.
The female victim is being treated for non life threatening injuries and is expected to be released from hospital later today.
Quesnel RCMP GIS Investigators have been called out to assist in this serious crime investigation.
“We are committed to exhausting all leads and utilizing all available resources to ensure that the person responsible for this crime is apprehended and brought to justice,” S/Sgt. Steve Vrolyk, Detachment Commander for the Quesnel RCMP.
Investigators are seeking any information on this suspect, and are also looking for witnesses who may have observed a male in and around the 4000 block of Quesnel Hixon Road who may have been on foot and/or may have been picked up by a vehicle between the hours of 6:00 am and 7:30 am on Sunday, December 7th.
