How Low Will It Go?

Tuesday, December 9, 2014 @ 12:05 PM

gasprice

Prince George, B.C.-  For the first time since June of 2009, gas prices in Prince George are below the $1 dollar a litre mark.Back in June of 2009 a  litre of regular   cost 98.9

Costco is now offering  regular  gas at 99.9 a litre.

Once again, it is the cheapest  pump offering in the City of Prince George.  The next best price, according to GasBuddy.com,  is at Superstore,  where  a litre of regular is going for 102.9,  Canadian Tire is a penny more,  and then most others in the  city are hovering in the 104.9  and 105.9 range.

There are two exceptions,  as two  gas stations in the Hart,  (a Shell and an Esso)  continue to  try and sell gas for 115.9

Is this a bad time to mention that Paris has just announced a ban on diesel passenger vehicles and London is proposing the same :P

woo hoo more money for beer

why is the power out in the Hart??????????????////

How is what they are doing about diesel powered passenger cars in Paris related to what we are not doing over here? Would it matter if the Parisians would ban diesel powered trucks too?

BTW, the latest diesel engines designed for use in passenger cars and SUVs have cleaner emissions than gasoline engines of the same power and give way better mileage. They use ultra low sulphur diesel and a urea injection system in the exhaust.

@sunnyday: Who knows why the power is out in the Hart, but maybe a better question would be, why are you putting this comment in every thread?

Get off your computer. Call BC Hydro.

Diesel has many times higher N02 which causes smog than gasoline. Newer gasoline engines are close to matching diesel. Also the partical removal systems give a lot of trouble.

@sunnyday2, the first story on 250 page tells you exactly why the power is off….but it’s on now so relax.

@sunnyday2 have a beer and kcco =D

I am pretty sure the gas companies are thinking up some sort of excuse so they can raise the prices way back up..
for every cent it goes down they are losing over a million dollars a day clear profit..
I can’t see them standing still for that for long.

So i will enjoy it while I can and cache as much cheap gas as I can.

I see Sergio has the only common sense comment on here.

BCracer watch to see if more taxes get added.

the price drop due to saudi arabia’s move to flood the market will continue until the oil sands are too expensive to operate. layoffs in the states refineries are expected soon

If it was not for COSTCO we would be paying $ 119.9 a liter 5 cents higher than anyone else in the province,,,

If it wasn’t for Costco we would be paying $104.9 a litre 5 cents more than Costco price…..

The gas prices could go as low as 0.85$ per liter in PG if the crude oil in 2015 drops to around 47$, ‘the worst case’ that I mentioned in 26th Nov on this site. Consider a maximum of 1 cent decline in gas prices for each dollar decline in crude oil price.

This week JP Morgan bank analysts also came up with a 45$ worst estimate for crude oil for 2015 from its present 63$, in agreement with my Nov worst case forecast. We may not get that low if there is a disruption of oil supply from Middle East or Russia, due to sanctions or war. I hope those holding Canadian oil sand stocks have sold them when they were warned here before mayoral election, otherwise they have lost 40% of value.

Wait a bit longer then buy in. Oil will go up again, don’t get used to it being low. Dump the carbon tax rip off and we will get to that 85 cent litre sooner rather than later. With lower price price usage will increase therefore more tax paid.
