New OIC for Ft. St. John

Fort St. John, B.C.- The RCMP detachment in Ft. St. John will soon be under  new command.

Chief Superintendent Rod Booth  has announced  Sergeant Mike Kurvers will take over the post following the departure of Inspector Pat Egan.

Originally from the Netherlands, Mike calls Victoria, B.C. home.

His career in the RCMP  started in 1990 and includes  General Duty,  General Inv estigations/Major Crimes,  Emergency Response, Economic Crime Investigation,  was involved in Olympic planning, and Crime Reduction Units as well as  Serious Organized crime teamwork.

Sgt. Kurvers  and his wife are looking forward to making the  move to Ft. St. John  As the incoming Detachment Commander, I look forward to serving the community and providing a high quality of policing service to its citizens. 

Sgt. Kurvers will be promoted to the rank of Inspector in the near future as he assumes his new duties.

Good. I hope he will bust that big meth lab that has ben supplying Prince George for the last couple of years.
