Firefighter Trial to Last 3 Days
Prince George, B.C. – It has been nearly a year and a half since Prince George Fire Rescue member Jeremy Kostyshyn was charged in relation to a stolen property case, today, the trial was set to get underway.
Kostyshyn is facing 6 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and 3 counts of trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Police say the property recovered during the course of the investigation includes two jet boats, a skid steer and a mini excavator.
This is the second attempt at holding this trial. You may recall the first trial ended in a mistrial in June when the judge hearing the matter discovered he was a family friend of one of the victims of theft.
Crown expects the trial to last three days. This time, the case is being heard by Judge Shana Keyes.
