All Sworn In

Prince George, B.C. – The Board of Directors for the Regional District of Fraser George has been official sworn in.Thirteen of the 14 Directors were on hand to swear the oath of office and to pledge allegiance to the Crown in a ceremony this afternoon in the Board room of the Regional District of Fraser Fort George .
Judge Brecknell reminded the Directors why they are required to swear the oath, saying the oath reminds them they have a duty to conduct their affairs as they are best able to within the rules, regulations and statutes ” Your responsibility is to the electorate, the public.”
There are many new faces among the Directors, as recent elections have seen some go. Jeannette Townsend has regained the post as Mayor of Valemount which means she returns to the Board at the Regional District. With the exception of Murry Krause, the Prince George Directors are relatively fresh in this role as they had only served as alternates before. P.G.’s new Mayor, Lyn Hall, along with Councillors Albert Koehler, Frank Everitt take the seats that used to be held by Shari Green, Cameron Stolz and Dave Wilbur. Everitt was not on hand for today’s ceremony.
Ken Starchuk has been replaced by Danielle Alan. McBride Mayor Mike Frazer, who had served as a Director since 1999 , has been replaced by Loranne Martin.
Mackenzie’s new Mayor, Pat Crook takes the post that had been filled by Stephanie Killam for the past 9 years.

- Terry Burgess
The new Board will hold its inaugural meeting tomorrow.
