Dawson Creek, B.C.-  RCMP in Dawson Creek  have uncovered what they  believe to be a “chop shop”  following their  investigation into a stolen  vehicle.A stolen  Ford F350 truck  was  located earlier this month and the  37 year old driver from Edmonton  has since been charged with one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000.

That investigation led police to  execute a series of search warrants on a rural property on 217 Road.

The searches  turned up a stolen snowmobile and trailer  from Clairmont,  Alberta,  a second stolen trailer and oilfield related equipment from the Spirit River area,  a stolen Ford F250 pickup from Grande Prairie that had been cut into pieces and parted out onto another Ford pickup on the property,  tools and other equipment that been  stolen from Cranbrook,  Pink Mountain BC and Edmonton  Alberta.  There were also two dead deer and an elk carcass on the property which the BC Conservation Service is now investigating.

Inside the residence police located two prohibited devices, a large quantity of marihuana, a stolen restricted firearm, and an additional 12 firearms that were seized as nobody on the property had a valid firearms license.

Darcy Beckman, a Dawson Creek resident,  has been charged and has plead guilty to the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime for the stolen Ford F-250, snow mobile, and trailer.
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of Marihuana
  • 2 counts of Failing to comply with a Recognizance of bail

This is an ongoing investigation and police may lay several additional charges against multiple suspects who can not be named at this time.

Police have identified eight separate victims of theft and returned numerous items to their rightful owners. Police are stressing the importance of marking personal belongings  to make it easier to identify  and have them returned to the rightful owners should the items be stolen.

A nice haul, a lot of hard work. Good Stuff!

What is it with people who think that they can just take whatever they can get away with and try to make a living that way? This mentality, I simply can’t comprehend.

Throw the book at them. Leeches to society. Put them out of commission.

Low life thieves don’t care about us, why should we care about them?
