Prince George, B.C. – Dozens of youngsters turned out for the 6th annual Skate with Santa event at the Ridgeview Rink this afternoon.

Put on by the Hart Community Association it included an appearance by the big man himself along with donated chili, hot chocolate and treats.

Chairperson Kristi Francis says the event was made possible by ice rink volunteers Judy and Mike Shaw who she notes “have been working hard this past week just to maintain a certain level so that everything goes ahead.”

She also says the skate is a tradition the association holds dear.

“We used to have more rinks in our community. We’re down to one but we still have our skate with Santa every year.”
