Heard a ton of excuses why some people will drive and think they won’t get caught, still surprises me. Good Work!
I thought the law was that a novice driver found with alcohol in their blood while driving, lost their license and had to start over again. Is this also up to police discretion?
can anyone smarter than me explain the difference between the 30 day and 3 day discretionary prohibitions . while not saying impaired driving is ok , I find it a complete hypocrisy that booze is at just about every function except those at school or church yet a heathy adult dare enjoy a drink and risk losing your wheels and a fine for driving home .
One drink won’t even cause a 110 pound woman to go over .03%. .05% is where the road side suspension kicks in. So no adult need fear a drink – per hour. It’s the 3drinks an hour that causes the problem. Google rupissed and there’s a calculator to help figure out how much you can legally consume
You know, if the RCMP conducted these ‘road checks’ on a daily or even weekly basis, random locations, no pre-announcement, they would certainly reduce the numbers of miscreants on the road, and possibly pay for the costs through fines. Include the weigh scale cops, every one of their ‘blitzes’ seem to catch a lot of infractions for brakes/tires/log book infractions/excess weight etc.
