It is that time of year again when we sit back and reflect, count our blessings and look forward to a new year.

It has been an interesting year in Prince George and in particular on the political front. We watched as a number of new faces appeared on council , we watched as some of the old left the room. We have a new mayor and a promise of a new beginning.

For all of those who ran for office , we thank you and wish you the best in your future endeavours, for former Mayor Shari Green , and former Councilors Stolz and Wilbur, may your travels take you to new and lofty peaks.

We wish Todd Doherty , nominated to be the Conservative  candidate in the riding of Cariboo- Prince George  for the federal election of 2015,  the best of luck.  It is a new beginning and a hope of the people of the area that you will serve their interests.

Our city may not have grown over the past year in the manner that some would like, but we are about to show case our city with the Winter Games.  I am confident  that we will more than exceed what we in this city have become known as , the most friendly  and accommodating people around. With that as our motto, how can we not succeed?

From our office we want to say `thank you’ , thank you for making 250News your top read every morning, day and night.  On May 13th, 2015, it will be ten years since  we began what we had hoped would change the manner in which you  received the news of the day. We have surpassed our goals several times over and to you we are grateful that you have  helped us  achieve those goals.

To our posters, many of whom keep us up at nights, may we be able to continue to allow your views and thoughts a part of 250News.  There are times when we want to hit the delete button (and sometimes we do) but in the end,  we really want  everyone to ‘have their say’.

To our staff who work every day with the attitude that today we will break the big story, today we will  find a story of interest that the public wants to hear, thank you.  It couldn’t happen without you. 250News is not about Ben Meisner, it is about Elaine, Greg, Don, Stan, Shirley, Kim, Wayne,  Peter and Shea, they are the wheels that turn the wagon.

Finally to my family and especially Elaine ‘Macdonald’, thank you for yet another year of happiness.

God Rest you merry gentleman let nothing you dismay , for Christ our Lord and saviour was born on Christmas day.
