Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP are advising the motoring public that some roads in the vicinity of the city are in poor shape this evening.
Foothills Boulevard above North Nechako Road is extremely slippery and four-wheel drive vehicles have been having difficulty making it up the hill. You should avoid upper Foothills if at all possible.
As well, the Hart Highway in the vicinity of Bellamy Road is quite slippery and was the scene of a motor vehicle accident late this afternoon.
Road conditions in the central interior have been adversely affected by the snowfall of the past 24 hours and motorists are advised to slow down and drive according to road conditions.

That’s priceless! Story at 8 this morning said that it was *alls to to wall for snow clearing crew. Fast forward some 10 hours and all the hard graft has one of the main arterial routes impassable even for 4 wheel drive vehicles.
All I can say is I god help us if we get a real snowfall, there was not enough on the ground to even bother getting the snow blower out today.
Might be time to head back to the island of sand surf and sun and extend the Christmas vacation till Easter.
Ya, get going sparrow with all the other whiners ! We live here because we love the fresh air, blue skies and the winters ! If you don’t, then move, it is a free country !
Just because CUPE won the election doesn’t mean that they’ll suddenly be more useful then before.
I don’t think we need the RCMP to tell us these things. Use common sense and drive to existing conditions. Too many people are driving with an expectation of July road conditions.
Owning a 4 wheel drive doesn’t mean you are a good driver. Doesn’t make you immortal either. Bad drivers in 4 wheel drives can get themselves into a world of trouble. Bad drivers are bad drivers… It’s winter, drive to conditions!!! DUH!
But then, I was born and lived all my life in the north.
Maybe someone in Washington can prepare a report on how to drive in the snow?
Something tells me City Hall’s running a little smoother these days. Could it be the guy what’s in charge of cleaning streets is now allowed to do his job?
Hope YRB gets the cleanup done on the Hart.
