Rail Museum Light Display on Till New Year’s Eve
Prince George, B.C. – If you have not done so already, there is still an opportunity to take in the Celebration of Lights display at the Central B.C. Railway and Forestry Museum.
Executive Director Ranjit Gill says in the wake of the overwhelming popularity of the event, which this year incorporates the lights normally used in the Northern Lights Display atop Connaught Hill, a decision was made to extend the museum’s show through New Year’s eve.
The Celebration of Lights usually runs from December 18th to 24th, and Gill says “typically we have about five hundred visitors. This year we’ve had close to five thousand. It’s absolutely amazing and it makes us very happy.”
Gill had told 250News on Christmas Eve she would like to extend the event, but could only do so if enough people volunteered to make it happen.
Well, her Christmas wish has come true, there are enough volunteers to make it happen.
So tonight, tomorrow night and on New Year’s eve Wednesday the museum display will be available for all to enjoy from 4 till 7pm.
You’ll want to bundle up against the cold and, besides the lights, you can also enjoy a train ride, the bonfire near the Cottonwood Railway station, hot chocolate, smores, popcorn and other goodies.
Regular museum admission prices are in effect.
