High and Low Temperatures of 2014
Prince George, B.C. – 33 was the big number temperature wise in Prince George in 2014.
According to Jennifer Hay, meteorologist with Environment Canada, the coldest day was minus 33.6 degrees on February 6th while the hottest day was a balmy plus 33.6 on July 14th.
“To me it’s unusual to have the same number positive and negative,” says Hay.
However neither day broke any longstanding records: the coldest day on record being minus 50 back on January 2, 1950 and the hottest a scorching 36 degrees on May 29th, 1983.
Looking ahead to 2015 she says it doesn’t like like any records will fall the beginning of this year either.
“We’re looking at maybe some snow this weekend but behind that it looks like Sunday and Monday could bring temperatures into the minus 20’s.”
