Environment Canada Issues Winter Storm Watch
Prince George, B.C. – Prince George is about to get its first real taste of winter.
This as Environment Canada has issued a winter storm watch for B.C.’s Interior which is expected to hit tomorrow and continue through Monday.
“The front is moving in. It’s well off shore right now but it’s going to affect Prince George over the next few days,” says forecaster John McIntyre.
He says Prince George is on the northern edge of the storm and can expect two centimetres of snow today, five tomorrow and five to ten on Monday along with cold wind chill values.
“It will be a nasty couple of days.”
He says the Cariboo, including Quesnel, can expect up to 15 centimetres of snow and says that will stretch all the way down to Kamloops.
McIntyre says the change in weather is expected to pose challenges for winter travelers with icy and slippery conditions adding “the roads will definitely be trouble early next week.”
Those who must travel have been advised by Public Safety Canada “to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.”

Just looked on Env. Can. website. Winter Storm Watch has ended.
