Williams Lake, B.C. – Police are investigating a suspicious death near Williams Lake.

They say it follows the discovery of a body yesterday afternoon on the ice under the Rudy Johnson Bridge near Soda Creek (located approximately 40 kms north of Williams Lake).

North District Corporal Dave Tyreman says Williams Lake General Investigative Services and the North District Major Crime Unit have been called in to assist with the investigation as foul play is suspected.

He says the identity of the male is undetermined and notes police will not be releasing any more information at this time.

In the meantime the Rudy Johnson bridge remains closed to all traffic, but may re-open as early as 8:00 PM tonight.
