Hart Highway Closed at Bridge
Prince George, B.C. – One person has been taken to hospital with serious life threatening injuries following a crash on the John Hart Highway.
RCMP media liaison Corporal Craig Douglass says a southbound vehicle collided head on with a north bound BC Transit bus. The bus driver was the lone occupant in that vehicle and was not injured.
John Hart Highway is closed between the south side of the John Hart Bridge and the ramp that leads north from the Cameron Street round about.
“Southbound traffic from the heart will have to use Foothills as an alternate” says Corporal Douglass. Northbound traffic can use either Foothills or the ramp from the Cameron Street Round about which merges with highway 97 north of the collision site.
“We understand the importance of this route, and hope to reopen it as soon as possible” says Douglass who asks that drivers take the alternate routes until officers are able to clear their investigation and the roadway.

Sure hope this person pulls through… why are the highways not sanded? salt works in this temp. Sure speed and bad tires play a big part of staying in control but the highways and bridge decks are ice ,,,, no excuse.
No you cant use the ((( Cameron Street Round about which merges with highway 97 north of the collision site.)) There’s a cop blocking the road at the round about.

In light of the crappy conditions of the roads tonight and the BS on the after work commute, I came on here to throw my own two cents at the snow plowing story from this morning. It’s gone….there must have been too many negative comments on that exaggerated rating the plowing was getting.
Anyway, I wouldn’t give it 8 out of 10 tonight…. Maybe tomorrow.
yeahhh Since they started keeping up with the plowing, they have forgotten to put down ice and sand.. Roads are treacherous out there… Maybe saving all the sand ect for the Winter Games event
Pg101 I am not sure you are aware of the procedure but any time there is a major accident with the chance of fatality or life threatening injuries the road no matter how big or arterial it is is shut down to preserve evidence and the scene is documented and if it inconveniences you crap happens deal with it
