Prince George, B.C.- One south bound lane on  Highway 97 south of the weigh scales approaching the  John Hart Bridge in  Prince George,  is expected to be opened  at about 6 this evening.

The highway was closed  from the Nechako road exit to  the  merge lane from the Cameron Street round a bout  following a  collision involving a BC transit bus and a  car around 3 this afternoon.

The driver of the car  has been taken to hospital with serious life  threatening injuries.  The bus driver, the lone occupant in that vehicle,  was not seriously hurt.

Police have not yet said what might have led to the collision.
