Prince George, B.C. – This year’s Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign raised just under 33,000.

To recognize the success of the event a cheque displaying the amount was presented at the Coast Inn of the North this morning.

“The goal was 50,000 but we always look for 30,000 to 45,000 as a kind of benchmark so we’re happy,” says business coordinator Bill Glasgow.

“We are so appreciative of the community support. Not just the people who made the donations but also the committee that comes out every year and helps us put this together.”

He says the money will go back into the Salavation Army’s foodbank, emergency disaster services and community ministries.
