Chamber of Commerce to Become “Chamber House” During Canada Winter Games
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Chamber of Commerce has come up with a unique idea to help support its 800 plus members during the upcoming Canada Winter Games.
They will create “Chamber House” – a place where members can warm up, enjoy a hot beverage, watch Games’ events, or even work remotely.
“We really wanted an opportunity for our members to benefit from our prime location – just two blocks away from the Canada Games main stage,” says CEO Christie Ray.
“We are converting our board room into a lounge which will include coffee couches and chairs and wide screen TV’s that will be playing the games.
She’s hoping it will become chamber member’s “home away from home” during the games which she says will include extended office hours.
“It’s a pretty amazing time for our city and this is one way that the chamber can be a part of that and help give back to all our members who make up the business community.”

doesn’t sound like there is going to be a lot of work being done here during the games…
where can I get this type of job where I get paid and only have to watch tv and drink coffee?
Has anyone heard if there are going to be any streets closed down during this like there was at the Vancouver Olympics? I heard a rumor that all of George street was being closed down.
I heard something about road closures duffer… most of it was very vague….the best I can remember it will be roads east of Victoria Street that are the ones affected…
I for one will be avoiding the downtown core during this period of time as it is bad enough driving down there at the best of times….
