Prince George, B.C. -The Prince George Public Library celebrated Family Literacy Day today by holding its third annual Munsch Mania! reading event.

Kids aged 0-9 packed the Bob Harkins Branch to hear many of the well known stories of children’s writer Robert Munsch.

“Reading with your children makes an enormous difference and it’s so important we take 15 minutes a day to read with each other,” said Prince George-Valemount Liberal MLA Shirley Bond.

“Books can transport you to new worlds and you can learn things.”

Family Literacy Day was created in 1999 and is a national day of awareness to celebrate the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-based activities as a family.

Are the liberals ever dragging the bottom of the barrel.
Cheers

Yes another photo op for bond.

Whiners.

It’s always good to know that our representatives can read.

Maybe they are teaching her…lol

And JB calling yourself names.. That’s not good for your low self esteem.

It looks like it was packed. There are 5 of them there.

UNDERFUNDED,overbudget, enrollment is down. WHAT the hell is BOND BABY doin??? JUST shut er down

Same old Shirley Bond comments by the usual suspects on every story she is pictured in. You would figure you guys would get some originality after a while.

I’m not a Liberal, and I would never vote Liberal, but in all honesty Shirley Bond is one of the best MLAs in the Province. Seriously…she is literally out everywhere, at all times, and represents PG in a good light. Politics aside, she is doing her job and doing a damn good job of it.

Don’t complain about the small class. Small class sizes are good for the kids.

Retired 02-How true. Maybe IPG will get right on it and find her a Education Assistant.

DITTO TO THAT KNUCKLEHEAD LIKE THE WORDS FROM YOUR LIPS EVERYONE IS TITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION,JUST BECAUSE YOURS IS OFF KILTER MOST OF THE TIME.

At least she make an attempt, not like some I know.

As much a squirrely shirley’s politics may frustrate me, she is doing her job when she gets out to support community and civic activities. And the message in this story is very appropriate. If just one more parent reads regularly to his/her child, then the effort will have been rewarded.

Hey, mattyc, calm down before you burst a blood vessel.

Seriously people…talk about cheap shots!

A public figure democratically voted into office with a long history of civil service, takes time out of her busy Saturday to read to little children that posses no political bias, to them she’s just the nice lady in the bright green shirt willing to share a fun story. It must be a real relief for her to spend time around sweet little people who aren’t negative knuckle draggers like some of the posters above.

Ask yourself this, what community service have you participated in today? Posted some trash talk on 250? Disgusting!

Remember: Keep Right Except To Speed.

“EVERYONE IS TITLED”…….yikes ! ice receives an “F” for this class.

Shirley has more pictures taken of her than Mt. Robson.
