Prince George, B.C. – The winners of the 28th annual Prince George Iceman have been announced.

Alexander Nemethy had the fastest time in the men’s category at 1:35:17 while Kelsey Knoll was the fastest woman at 1:53:37.

More than 500 people registered for this year’s event which included skiing, running and a swim (the skate was replaced by an extra 5 km run).

Registrar Jim Van Bakel attributes the success of the event to its “uniqueness” in the region.

He says the race was for all ages noting the oldest competitor this year was 78 years old while the youngest was just 10.

The race was followed by a banquet at the Civic Centre.
