Weather Channel Says Weather Will Be Nice For Winter Games Opening

Monday, February 2, 2015 @ 4:00 AM

Prince George, BC- It is a bit risky to even suggest what the weather will be for the opening of the Canada Winter Games in Prince George, but,  if you take any stock in the weather channel’s 14 day forecast, we could see some pretty nice weather for the opening,  and a few days thereafter.

The weather channel suggests the temperature on the opening day, Friday Feb 13th, will be around -2 degrees but it will feel like 0 , under mixed sun and clouds. Saturday, day two, is predicted to be a high of -1 , with a low of -3 , along with a mix of sun and clouds and about a 10% chance of snow. On Sunday the temperature will be +2 , but it will feel like 0.

Sounds like some great weather for the first few days of the winter games. We should however remember, it was the weather service, that predicted New York would receive a record snow a few weeks ago, it didn’t happen.

So what really can we expect? Maybe try the old method , wet your finger, put it in the air, and Bingo!….you can make a weather prediction.

What is the weather like off shore in East Asia today. The typhoon cycle off of the Philippines. That will tell you what our weather will be like in two weeks 90% of the time give or take a day or two.

Really?
Weather channel has troubles getting it right from day to day so how can they be so certain of something that is a couple of weeks off?

oh I know , here is my forecast…sure to be correct….

an outlook of dryness or a chance of snow or rain with a possibility of sun or clouds temperatures ranging from +40C to -40C

I guess with that forecast they might get part of it right.

who in the world would trust TWC forecast, for anything further than 2 days?

Kind of have to agree with PG101, TWC is not too bad for predicting two days ahead. But then again, the reality is, can anyone predict weather two weeks ahead, the best they can do is have a probability of accuracy.

Eagle one, you sound like the farmers almanac.. May be nice or not depending on time and weather.. And that’s almost guaranteed 90% of the time.

I think the best way to know what the weather is look out the window, to find the temp, stick head out the window :)

If duh longjohns is frozen on the line, it be cold.
