I thought ammonium nitrate was fertilizer.
It technically is fertilizer but it’s used as an explosive agent. It’s mixed with fuel oil (desiel or kerosene) at the site where the blast is proposed. Ammonium nitrate is used for explosives because it’s relativly stable and safe to transport..you need a high charge detonator to set it off..
