Prince George, B.C. – A detour is now available to motorists trying to get around the closure on Highway 97 south of the Red Rock scales.

According to DriveBC it’s accessible via Red Rock West Road.

All of this after a tanker carrying dangerous chemicals overturned this afternoon.

The crash sent the driver to hospital with serious injuries.

DriveBC estimates Highway 97 will reopen in both directions at 7:00 tonight.
