Additional resources have been brought in to support and supplement policing needs. Some specialized police units such as Air, Traffic and Police Dog Services have also been deployed to Prince George to maximize response opportunities. Although additional resources have been brought into the City, Supt. Brown says residents will not notice a change in police service.
Supt. Brown does advise that people should do some extra planning as having so many people descend on the City can have an impact on traffic “While the 2015 Games are on, people should plan on taking a little extra time to get to their destinations, whether it is visiting one of the exciting events or part of their regular routine in the city. And as always, if people see something suspicious or suspect a crime is taking place, call the Prince George RCMP.”
Supt. Brown says the Games will provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy all that Prince George has to offer While the Canada Games are on, we would encourage everyone to work together to create a safe and crime free environment.
