Strong Too Strong for Knezevic

Prince George, B.C. – A disappointing  game this morning for the Patti Knezevic  rink from Prince George at the Scotties Tournament  of Hearts in Moosejaw Saskatchewan.

Knezevic  lost 10-7 to Newfoundland’s Heather Strong, who came on strong in the 9th  and tenth ends , scoring two points in each.

The Knezevic rink  is  currently sitting at the bottom of the standings with  one  win and 9 losses  over the course of the tournament.

Knezevic is scheduled to take on Nova Scotia this evening.

I believe this last place finish means that BC will join Yukon and NWT in the relegation round next year, so BC may not even qualify for next year’s Scotties. Says something about the calibre of competitive women’s curling in this province.
That’s not meant as criticism of Team BC; they did their best.

I think its the kind of sport where this kind of thing happens. Its competitive and being off just a bit makes all the difference.

The Patti Knezevic team BC may finish last, but I’d bet they will finish first for class, and show the others how to be winners even in a loss. That’s just the kind of people they are IMO.

Canislupus, it’s very rare for a new team to do well at the scotties or the briar. It’s the teams first step onto the big league ice.. I am guessing you have forgotten we have won the scotties before. And yes it is a criticism of the team, a rather ignorant one I might add.
