Cougars Plan Stops Along Highway 97
Prince George, B.C. – On Monday, February 23rd, the Prince George Cougars hit the road a few days early for their southern road trip, because they will be making special stops in Quesnel, Williams Lake and 100 Mile.
Each stop will see the Cougars hold an evening practice, community meet and greets, autograph sessions and a chance to chat one on one with players.
“We want to encourage and support the many talented young hockey players and coaches in the Cariboo region” says Cougars Vice-President of Business Andy Beesley, “Our staff and players are looking forward to interact with some future WHL stars while experiencing the terrific hospitality from our surrounding communities.”
The first stop will be in Quesnel on the 23rd, with the Cougards hitting the ice at the Twin Arenas for a practice at 11:00 am, returning to the ice at 6:15 to skate with the Quesnel Atoms Select. There will be a met and greet in the arena lobby at 7:30 pm.
Next stop is Williams Lake on Tuesday the 24th. Starting at 11:00 AM at the Total Ice Training Centre, the Cougars will be conducting their own three-on-three tournament. At 6:00 PM, the Cougars will skate with local Williams Lake Atom, Pee-Wee and Novice-born players at the Twin Ice Arenas. A meet and greet opportunity is set for 7:00 pm in the arena lobby.
The Cougars wrap up their three-day Northern B.C. tour in 100 Mile House on Wednesday, the 25th. The team will practice at 1:00 PM at the South Cariboo Recreation Centre and will then return to the ice at 4:30 PM for a series of development practices with local Atom, Pee-Wee, Bantam and Midget teams which will run until 8:30 PM.

Just when you think that the Cats organization has hit one out of the park in their New Ice Age they go one step beyond. I am sure all the young hockey players from here to 100 Mile will be thrilled by the opportunity to get to know some future NHL’ers. The Cougars organization is one I am very proud to say comes from my hometown.
