Lieutenant Governor Begins Northern Tour Monday

Prince George, B.C. – The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, is heading out on a northern tour beginning tomorrow.

The week long trip will include stops in Kitimat, Terrace, New Hazelton, New Aiyansh, Smithers, Telkwa, Houston, Burns Lake, Vanderhoof and Prince George.

While in Prince George, she plans to attend events at the Canada Winter Games.

Here is her itinerary:

Monday, Feb. 23
Communities: Kitimat, Terrace

Events in Kitimat

8:45 a.m.
Visit to St. Anthony’s Elementary/Middle School
1750 Nalabila Blvd., Kitimat
Her Honour will address the students at an assembly.

10:30 a.m.
Visit to Delta King Place Assisted Living Complex
701 Mountainview Square, Kitimat
Her Honour will visit and have tea with residents.

Events in Terrace

3 p.m.
Terraceview Lodge
4707 Kerby Ave., Terrace
Her Honour will visit and have tea with residents.

5 p.m.
Dinner with Veterans at the Royal Canadian Legion
4425 Legion Ave., Terrace
Her Honour will deliver remarks and attend a dinner with local veterans.

Tuesday, Feb. 24
Communities: Terrace, New Hazelton, New Aiyansh

Visit to Skeena Middle school

Nisga’a Lisims Government Legislative Building and Museum Her Honour will
tour the Nisga’a Lisims Government Legislative Building and Museum. This
is visit is closed to media.

Attend the performance of “Jakes Gift”

Her Honour will attend and speak at the performance of “Jake’s Gift”, a
play about a Second World War veteran returning to Juno Beach for the 60th
anniversary of D-Day.

4 p.m.
Team Judo Finals

Her Honour will attend both the Men’s and Women’s Team Final and present
medals.

6:30 p.m.
Women’s Curling Final

Agreed. This is just another useless taxpayer funded boondoggle.

She will be starting in the north and heading south to finish her wasted money tour in CENTRAL British Columbia. GHEEESH how many times must it be said ;]

Pomp and circumstance, not to mention the security costs in this day and age.
