Prince George, B.C – A boisterous arrival at YXS this afternoon for Team Manitoba as they entered the terminal to chants of Toba! Toba! Toba!

“We’re getting them energized for the next week,” says Chef de Mission Ted Bigelow.

He says 173 mission staff, coaches, and athletes made the cross country trek and notes they’re not only here to compete, but to soak in the experience.

“We have hopes and expectations but we also know we’re here for the experience and to make them (kids) better people.”

Bigelow has been involved in the Canada Winter Games for 32 years and says Prince George rates at the top in terms of host cities he’s visited.

“Prince George has got the most spirit and community engagement of any host I’ve seen. Everybody knows about it, even your street people know about it. They give us high fives.”

Welcome to our City..

Lets welcome the “Flatlanders” to Prince George. Enjoy yourselves.

The “tobans” where excellent at the speed skating. They weren’t the best team one the ice but certainly the loudest :)

WHATTTTTTTT only the Tobas came for the second part of the Olympics???

“even your street people know about it. They give us high fives.”
See Stillsmokin….even the street people know we aren’t hosting the Olympics.

“Cross country trek”? How many souls were lost on this journey? :)
