McInnis Lighting Honoured by City

Prince George, B.C. – As the City prepares to officially mark its 100th anniversary, it has presented McInnis Lighting with a special award.At 95 years of age, the downtown business is nearly as old as the City itself.
Founded by John McInnis ( for whom John McInnis school was named), it is the fourth oldest business in the City, behind The Hudson’s Bay company (established in 1807), the Prince George citizen (est 1916), and Northern Hardware which was established in 1919.
McInnis Lighting is the recipient of a Heritage Places Award.
It has been a family owned business for all of those 95 years, managed by son-in-law Percy wiliams from 1956 to 1995, and is now managed by Paul Williams, the grandson of John McInnis.

There’s a reason this business is successful. They even have trained staff that will come to your home and help you pick the right lighting and sometimes that’s just switching to the right kind of bulb.
Same with Gurney’s House of Vision, WD West and the Northern. Helpful, professional and good quality. Beat that Wal-Mart.
