Cougars Plan Fan Appreciation Night
Prince George, B.C.- Tomorrow night won’t be just any night for the Prince George Cougars. It is Fan Appreciation night. Tomorrow night’s game with the Kamloops Blazers will have playoff implications.
The Prince George Cougars currently hold a four point lead on both the Tri-City Americans and the Kamloops Blazers. With one single point over their next two games, the Prince George Cougars will clinch third place in the B.C. Division, and would face the Victoria Royals in the first round of the WHL playoffs. The Cougars would also clinch third place in the B.C. Division if the Tri-City Americans were to lose two of their final three games (they play Portland twice, and Spokane once). At the very least, Wednesday’s victory for the Cougars over the Blazers ensures that the Cougars are eligible for a one-game ‘play-in’ game with the Kamloops Blazers next Tuesday, but that would only be neccessary if Tri-City were to finish the season with the same point total (or better) than the Cougars. Again, a victory or a single point for the Cougars tomorrow night or Saturday in Kamloops would clinch them third place regardless of what Kamloops and Tri-City accomplish in their remaining games.
Friday evening will kick off with the presentation of the 2014-15 team awards. The Cougars ownership group remains committed to honouring Cougars alumni whenever possible, and this season there will be eight brand new awards handed out, all of which have been named after prominent Prince George Cougars alumni/community supporters who have helped shape the history of this organization to date
During the second intermission a live draw will take place and one lucky season ticket/ticket package holder will win a brand new 2014 Nissan Micra.
There will also be a giant sale at the Cougars Den, with items up to 50 percent off to make room for next year’s merchandise. Fans can also look forward to their usual favorite game-night features like: Hockey bingo, the Papyrus sign contest, and Busker’s Corner.
