Inquest Adjourned to Consider New Evidence

Prince George, B.C. – The Lakeland inquest has been adjourned until next week to consider new evidence.
Coroner Lisa Lapointe has ruled the results of an investigation after the April 2012 explosion on behalf of lawyers for Lakeland is relevant to the proceedings.
But she’s also decided the evidence is protected by privilege recognized under the Coroners Act.
Therefore she’s asked counsel for Lakeland to waive their privilege and allow the evidence to be admitted.
A decision by Lakeland counsel on that request will be provided when the inquest reconvenes Monday morning.

What a twisted view of reality. Check out the inquest itself, understand the purpose of it then make an informed comment. It is not supposed to be what it has turned into, an excersise in laying blame and fault. If we truly want to prevent another Lakeland or Babine everyone needs to focus on the facts, not conjecture and blinding quests for justice. My sense is it’s too late to salvage.
