Prince George, B.C. – Police say charges are pending in connection with a domestic dispute and a firearms complaint in the early hours of Friday morning.

An RCMP spokesperson says that shortly before 1:00 AM Friday the city detachment  received a 9-1-1 call reporting a disturbance at a local night club that escalated into a domestic dispute between a male and female. Through the investigation, information was obtained that the male possibly had possession of an SKS assault rifle.

The male fled from the night club when the 9-1-1 call was made, but was later located on PG Pulpmill Road and taken into custody.

The  investigation and a subsequent search involving Police Dog Services resulted in the seizure of an SKS assault rifle, ammunition, and two prohibited SKS magazines.

Charges are being looked at in connection with the domestic dispute as well as firearms and alcohol-related offences.

Police are asking anyone with information about the events to call (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477.
