and people start complaining about potholes, city salaries, Christy Clark, Harper, the Chinese, in 5…4….3….2……..

The spending has to stop

X-it spending is never going to stop, but responsible spending would be a novel concept…

Wow. Field fees for all outdoor sporting leagues went way up (a hundredfold for some!) yet the city can fund fireworks? Awesome.

field fees should be proportionate to the use…. the users should be paying for the maintenance and upkeep of the fields they use.
I know their will be lot of name calling over this comment , but suck it up sweetpea, why should the world pay for your recreation, they don’t pay for mine. none of it!.

For the most part, the users affected are kids. Would you rather they hang around street corners and the mall or would you rather they played some team sports and worked on developing as the leaders of the future?

Nice preemptive name calling there… I guess you didn’t play any sports as a kid?

Bcracer – please enlighten us as to what you do for “recreation” and we can show you how it is taxpayer subsidized. There is not much that isn’t in one way or another.

-Community Art Council – Promote art and assist arts organizations $ 34,900?
-PG Folk Fest Society Cold Snap $ 10,000?
-PG Symphony Local symphonic music $ 58,000.
-Theatre North West Professional Theatre $ 113,000?
-Two Rivers Gallery Mini Makers Faire $ 14,650.

Not so much for;

-Big Brothers and Big Sisters Youth group mentoring $ 14,000
-Canadian Mental Health Association Resource Housing Outreach $ 18,900
-Society of St Vincent De Paul Homeless clothing coordinator $ 12,500

Not really looking at the problem areas now are we!

With city utilities bills now $750.00 a year higher than places like Quesnel. Not to mention land taxes almost 3 times higher for a similar home in Quesnel. I guess you could say I am getting tried of paying for “stupid”.
Couple more years from now Prince George’s population will fall by another two residences. I will enjoy the extra $3400 a year in savings elsewhere.

No need to hire a consultant to figure that out!

“Theatre North West Professional Theatre $ 113,000”

Please tell me that’s a typo, and the comma is supposed to be one position to the left. If not, that’s obscene. Now that is a group that needs to start raising it’s own funds instead of crying to the city for funding, and also passing the donation plate at each performance.

yup, money solves everything. I think the womans and chidren advocacy should have more than $6,000. While the North west theatre gets $113,000.
I think the money management in PG is really screwed up. Very socialistic. And yes lynn hall is smileing.

Sure interceptor..
1)I ride motorcycle .. if you wish to send me a check for maintenance, gas and insurance it would be wonderful.
2)I grow vegetables and flowers, if you have free seeds I’ll accept them.
3)I fly model aircraft… money for more planes and equipment accepted.
4)I collect rocks from rivers and lakes , mountains and road sides and make jewelry and polished stones…… donations for new shoes would be handy.
5) I hike out in the woods and mountain sides and cross country ski
and 3 are done on my own property, feel like helping out with the taxes…
I rest my case.
no one pays my way.

TNWest gets approximately one third of the grants!!! Have we lost our F***ing minds!!

Jeezuz ya got me bcr – lol
Good on ya

Gas is subsidized, roads are subsidized. So yes, we are paying so that you can recreate.

$207,900.00 between the symphony, Theatre Northwest, and the Community arts council. Man oh man how did these clowns come up with this? I am going to put in a request next year to have my golfing paid for.
