Cougars Encourage Fans to Wear White
Prince George, B.C. – If you’re planning on going to a Prince George Cougars playoff game this week, then wear white.
“We want to bring back a tradition that happened 15 years ago, and that’s what we call the “white out,” says Andy Beesley, the Cougars vice-president of business. “That’s where everybody wears their white jerseys, their white shirt, we’re selling super cheap white t-shits.”
“It’s quite intimidating for the other team when they see the solidarity being shown by the fans and it’s fantastic for the home team to look out and see all these fans on their side rooting for them,” says Beesley.
“But the other side of it is it’s just plain fun and it’s cool for the audience to see the sea of white out there and to experience the whole atmosphere.”
Remembering back 15 years, Beesley says “every single person in that building had hair on the back of their necks. It was jam packed, everybody was cheering, everybody was excited, everybody was optimistic and happy. And that’s exactly what we want people to experience again.”
He says ticket sales for the games Wednesday and Thursday are going well but notes there are still good seats available.
“There’s still really good seats left. But the concern is people will wait until the last minute to get their tickets and that’s a result of having a decade of very poor ticket sales. So buy your tickets early.”
Victoria currenly leads the best of seven playoff series two games to none.

Is wearing white really going to change their chances of losing… I think not
Wake up on the wrong side of the bed racer?!
It’s called a rallying cry. You may know something about them if you grew up playing sports. Don’t really expect you to understand.
Victoria is a very good team!
Cougars have been playing just as well maybe even better than Victoria.
The Cougars could be up 2 games to nothing just as easily.
Its very possible for the cougars to beat Victoria as they are evenly matched.
either way the caliber of hockey is great from both teams
touchy this morning phje…
call it what you like,
it aint gonna help…
my opinion, yours may differ, isn’t the world wonderful…differences of opinion…
actually fan support is statistically proven to provide an advantage, and showing the colours is a visual form of fan support …. and besides, it is fun .. now there is a concept that bcracer is not familiar with ;)
hey anotherside if you find it fun, enjoy, I would never think of depriving you of that.
And just what make you think you know what concepts I am familiar with…
I like to make Cougar fans think, and stir the pot, and it appears as if I have been immensely successful.
C’mon bcracer, ( aka imnoone) admit it. You like to wake up everyday and gripe on the local news sites.
bcracer-“I like to make Cougar fans think, and stir the pot”….here, you can use this one.
Cougar fans are encouraged to wear red turtlenecks hoping that 5800 screaming red necks will scare the Victoria Royals.
Cougar fans are encouraged to wear red turtlenecks hoping that 5800 screaming red necks will scare the Victoria Royals….good luck
lol Digitus, that is a good one
I am not sure if everyone wearing white and cheering on the team changes the chances of losing – but it does statistically increase the chance of winning. Just playing at home increases the chances of winning but even more so with fan support. Look at the Maple Leafs, super fan support and their home win record is double their away wins. It has been known for quite some time that “home field advantage” does exist in every sport.
Superb goaltending and defense greatly increase your chances in the playoffs. They need to solve the goalie and keep him from standing on his head like in the first two games in order to put the game away. They have a good record when it comes to the power play, just need to get a few more goals playing 5 on 5.
Go Cougs!!
Got tickets to tommorow nights game…first home playoff game under new management.
Sorry bcracer that the cougs made the playoffs this year.first time in 4 years, why be happy about them winning enough games . I know you like to wallow in others misery.. Hopefully you will get lucky and the cougs won’t make it past this round so you can be happy in your own angry little world. Lol

The adjective above aptly describes the nitpicking and disrespectful behaviour toward one another between certain contributors to this forum.
Gotta tell you, it is not entertaining, more like embarrassing.
