Prince George, B.C. – The RCMP and emergency services are attending to a motor vehicle accident west of Smithers this afternoon.

Information is very limited however we have been told that the accident occurred in the vicinity of Hazelton, that the impact appeared very serious and that RCMP members were unavailable to provide information as they were out at the scene.

A spokesperson at North District Traffic Services in Prince George said a traffic analyst from that office was on the way to that incident, but he could provide no further information at this time.

A check of the DriveBC website does not indicate a closure of Highway 16 in the Hazelton area.
