Horgan & James Make P.G. Pit Stop
Thursday, April 9, 2015 @ 3:30 AM
Prince George, B.C. – John Horgan is in Prince George today.
The NDP leader has brought along the party’s finance critic Carol James to discuss affordability with local families.
“We’ve been meeting with families across the province. Wherever we go, families are telling us they just can’t get ahead. They are paying more and getting less,” says Horgan. “We’ll be telling the stories they have shared with us in Prince George and across BC.”
Horgan and James will be at Books & Company beginning at 8:30 this morning.

I was hoping to get a view of Angry Mike Farnworth! I am often amused by the NDP but Mike takes the cake!
Four or five diapers a day (per kid) would sure go a long way… but that will never happen, lol.
Otherwise the one thing I agree with the conservatives on is the income splitting for those families earning under $100,000 or so. To argue otherwise is to say that a stay at home mom isn’t an occupation in and of itself, in raising the next generation of good upstanding citizens.
To argue against income splitting in single income families I think is therefor an attack on the traditional family more than an argument of tax cut fairness for other unique revenue sources.
If we have two adult citizens in a family, and only one pool of money, but two different tax rates on families based on if both work or not… then this is simply using the tax code to subsidize the break down of the family if allowed to continue.
I think the tax load per family should be equal regardless of the balance of earned income between the spouses.
Everybody is paying more and getting less! Not just families! Far too much money is wasted on bloated government at all three levels. By the time the ever increasing fees and taxes trickle down to actually accomplish the purposes they were collected for there isn’t enough left over to properly do the job.
Politicians are part of the problem. Telling stories is not the solution.
horgan and his ndp are as much the scumbag weasels as christy clark and the bcliberals. notice neither party is willing to disclose their party’s constitution to the public, but here from the “join” page of the ndp website, “By submitting this form you are agreeing to the following statement: I am not a member nor supporter of any other political party. I declare that I accept and will abide by the Constitution, principles, and policies of the NDP of B.C. and of Canada.”
they will have you agree to abide by a document that you cannot see or read.
the ndp and bcliberals are a disgrace and deceptive garbage such as has no place in ‘government’.
horgan, take your garbage talk and garbage ways somewhere else.
Let’s trim back the civil service and start developing our social programs so that people who want to succeed have the opportunity to do so.
a_britishcolumbian, What a dumb statement. I bet you don’t even vote at election time. And talk about cutting back on bloated government has about the same value. I wonder what 18 billion would do for social services that was spent on supporting the usa in Afghanistan?
The wages of our public serve goes back into the local economy. I wonder where the profit goes for a loaf of bread that we used to pay about 2 bucks for that now cost 4 bucks.
Cheers
‘dumb’? exposing these scam artists is dumb?
voting for people that are open and transparent about their policies is of my course, for instance the green party, or the christian heritage party. neither of those are hiding anything, keeping secrets from the populace.
and spending, isn’t that a funny one. the con artists in power, that being both bcliberals and the ndp, give each mla $1000 a month with no need for any accounting of, no reciepts neccesary. for what i wonder? hookers and blow? why else are no reciepts neccessary?
how much is afforded to a disabled person per month, about $900, reciepts neccesary.
so, bcliberals and ndp refuse to disclose their constitutions, and award mlas a free $1000 a month no questions asked or reciepts needed, and they deem a handicapped individual, reliant on society only deserving of $900 a month.
vote for the scumbag ndp or scumbag bcliberals, identify yourself as ‘dumb’, if you wish. i myself will not wish, and instead support the efforts of honest and decent people and parties, and work to dipose these despots that grow fat on the blood, sweat and tears of the population they lie to and grind under with oppresive and dishonest tactics.
a_britishcolumbian, you don’t even understand the capitalist system we live under. I guess you like Harper seems that you don’t mind military spending. Your whining doesn’t even make sense.
Cheers
