Prince George, B.C. – A Prince George wrestler has muscled her way to a silver medal on the national stage.

16 year old Tristina Howse of the PGSS Polars accomplished the feat at the Cadet & Juvenile Canadian Wrestling Championships national tournament in Fredericton, New Brunswick over the weekend.

“It was overwhelming and I’m glad that I got the opportunity to go for gold but it was more for the experience,” says Howse, who participated in the 80 kg weight division.

The grade 10 student beat Ashley Gravelle of Ontario to reach the final before losing to BC provincial champ Serena Woldring.

Moving forward Howse plans to try out for Team BC for this summer’s Western Canada Games.
