Wednesday, April 15, 2015 @ 3:55 AM

Prince George, BC – He’s been a mainstay in the community of Fort St. James for 25-years…

And Dr. Paul Stent has been honoured for that service, being inducted into the Northern Medical Hall of Fame at the Northern Medical Program Trust’s annual fundraising dinner this past weekend.

Speaking at the Bob Ewert Memorial dinner, Dr Stent thanked his peers for the recognition, but credited them for their invaluable support, both personally and professionally, over the years.

“The clinical and collegial support that all the specialists have provided to us northern rural doctors has been most appreciated,” says the physician, who back in 2012 was the only full-time physican left in Fort St. James, after four others left in a short period of time.  Stent worked tirelessly with community officials and Northern Health to recruit new physicians and ensure local health care remained accessible.  (click here, for previous story)

At Saturday night’s induction, he also the staff at his clinic and at the Stuart Lake Hospital for their assistance and support over those 25-years, and all the people of the greater Fort St. James area for, “making me and my family feel welcome in their midst.”
