Pilots Bodies Recovered
North Vancouver, B.C. – The bodies of two pilots from Carson Air Flight 66 have been recovered.
The pair perished when the cargo flight bound for Prince George yesterday crashed north of Mount Seymour.
Paul Trenholm, public affairs spokesperson with the Department of National Defence, says the case is now being handed over to the BC Coroner’s Service and the Transportation Safety Board.
He says the search was a coordinated effort.
“The first people we need to thank here is Navigation Canada. They were able to do a quick analysis which enabled us to develop a “high probability zone,” says Trenholm. “It was once we got that we were able to get North Shore Rescue into the area who were able to quickly find parts of the wreckage. The RCMP were also on the ground assisting.”
The cargo plan departed Vancouver International Airport before 7 am yesterday and quickly lost contact with NavCanada’s Kamloops Flight Information Centre.
The Metro II aircraft with two pilots (aged 33 and 35 and from Vancouver) on board was due to arrive at YXS at 8 am.
Trenholm says it will be up to the Transportation Safety Board to determine a cause.

how very sad for the families of these two pilots.
I was really hoping for another outcome. Condolences to the pilots families and hopefully they can find out what happened so this never happens again.
How sad.
A very sad outcome indeed. Very quickly resolved too. A big thank you to all the people who involved themselves in this operation.
Our condolences to the families and friends of the pilots.
