Local Swimmers Make a Loud Splash
Prince George, B.C. – Special Olympics swimmers from Prince George made a big splash at this weekend’s SOBC-Kelowna Annual Swim meet.
Thirteen local swimmers participated with all of them earning multiple top 3 finishes.
Diana Bramble: 1 first, 1 second, 2 thirds
Carla Caputo: 1 first, 2 seconds, 1 third
Greg Cole: 1 first, 3 seconds, 1 third
David Dunn: 6 firsts
Amanda Glazier: 1 second, 4 thirds
Kelly Hein: 1 first, 1 second, 2 thirds
Amy Louro: 3 seconds, 1 third
Kathleen Mitchell: 5 firsts
Josh Pudney: 2 firsts, 1 second
Sam Russell: 2 firsts, 1 second, 1 third
Mathew Sallenback: 1 first, 2 thirds
Marinka VanHage: 1 first, 2 seconds
Brian Whitfield: 1 first, 4 seconds
“The athletes have been training twice a week since October and their hard work and dedication paid off,” says spokesperson Wilma VanHage.
She adds David Dunn is one of four Special Olympics BC swim athletes that have been chosen to represent BC at the upcoming Western Canada Summer Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta this August.
