Regional District Compost Swap A Good Deal
Prince George, B.C. – The food-for-compost exchange at the Foothills Landfill on Friday turned out to be highly beneficial for both the St. Vincent De Paul Society and for those looking to fertilize their gardens for the growing season.
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says over 200 truckloads of NorGrow Compost were given away in return for donations of non-perishable food items. The donated food filled three truckloads and will be given to the St Vincent De Paul Society.
“We are overwhelmed at the response we received and the generosity of residents in our region. We are excited to see so many people in Prince George get their growing season off to a good start with NorGrow Compost all while supporting those in need in our community,” says Rachael Ryder, Waste Diversion Program Leader for the Regional District.
