Relay Donations Down
Prince George, B.C. – Relay for Life organizers have some work to do if they want to match last year’s record breaking fundraising total of $600,000.
Team lead Helen Owen says donations are down 12% compared to this time last year.
“I want to acknowledge the amazing job P.G. did achieving No. 1 status last year and raising $600,000 – it was phenomenal,” she says. “We have incredible support for our event and we need everyone to help us reach our goal for this year.”
Owen says the goal this year is to raise $550,000 and so far have collected $97,500.
She says proceeds go towards research and Canadian Cancer Society services and programs.
This year’s event at Masich Place Stadium takes place May 9-10 while the registration deadline is April 24.
