Tourism PG AGM Takes Place Today

Thursday, April 23, 2015 @ 4:00 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Those seeking to learn more about the tourism industry should head to the Civic Centre today for Tourism Prince George’s second Annual General Meeting and Tourism Symposium.

“It starts with breakfast, then we’ll have opening remarks by myself, an overview of everything happening at Tourism Prince George,” says CEO Erica Hummel. “And then Northern BC Tourism will talk about the region and Stu Ballantyne will talk about the Northern story.”

In the afternoon, she says there will be three different sessions to take advantage of including workshops on adventure, sports, and meetings and conventions tourism.

Hummel adds it’s a great time to be involved in the industry.

“Tourism is growing, both in conventions and meetings and sports tourism as well. We have growth in the hotel sector happening so it’s a very healthy sector and we’re very engaged in what we can do to make it even better.”

The event is scheduled to run from 7:30am to 5:00pm.
