Prince George, B.C. – The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and Canfor have finalized a fire protection agreement for the Isle Pierre sawmill.

Under the terms of the five year fee for service agreement the Regional District, through Beaverly Fire Rescue, will provide firefighting assistance when requested for fires deemed beyond Canfor’s firefighting capabilities.

The deal is worth $10,000 and additional fees may be applied depending on the resources required to assist in a particular emergency.

The deal was announced at yesterday’s monthly Regional District meeting.
