PGDTA to Elect New President
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George & District Teachers Association is getting set to elect a new executive.
It will happen during their Annual General Meeting this afternoon starting at 4pm at the Van Bien Training Centre.
All table positions will be up for grabs including president, as Tina Cousins plans to step down after two years at the helm and another two as 1st vice-president.
Cousins will return to the classroom, most likely as a primary teacher.
So far 1st vice-president Richard Giroday is the only person in the running to replace Cousins though candidates are free to announce their candidacy from the floor of the AGM.
Terri Mooring, BCTF 2nd vice-president, will be a guest speaker to discuss issues affecting members including Bill 11, which among other things, removes teachers’ control over their own professional development.
