IIO Aware of 15 Mile Road Incident

Prince George, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office has been contacted about this morning’s incident on 15 Mile Road, just south of Prince George.The  IIO’s  spokesperson, Kellie Kilpatrick  has confirmed there was a crash involving a police vehicle and  another  vehicle,  and that an  adult male ( from the other vehicle) has been taken to hospital.  She says the IIO is waiting to hear if the male’s injuries are  serious as the IIO can  only investigate police incidents where  there has been a fatality or where a person has  suffered ‘serious harm’.

Kilpatrick says  the  crash site is now  being  assessed by a  crash reconstructionist.

Prince George RCMP have not released any information on the incident,  but  witnesses  tell 250News  police had been looking for a  dark coloured pick up truck that had been driving erratically.

15 Mile Road remains closed as investigators  continue  to examine the scene.
