Fire on Third Avenue
Prince George, B.C.- Flames erupted on Third Avenue in Downtown Prince George this evening.
The fire, which is believed to have been reported around 9:30 this evening, destroyed a building between Homework and Nancy O’s restaurant on Third Avenue.
Fire fighters had to cut through plywood that was covering the door of the business that was most recently “Flipside”, where old records and CD’s could be repaired, bought and sold.
One witness tells 250News when the plywood was removed, first there was smoke then “It was like a bomb went off, the flames just shot out everywhere”.
There was no one in the building at the time.
Fire fighters remain on scene dealing with hot spots. There is no word yet on possible cause or estimate of damage.

It is sad to see more businesses go up in smoke in PG
Seems like we’re losing our old downtown one or two buildings at a time. Sad.
Oh, No! Homeworks just moved into that building and had done a great deal of work to make it into a cool boutique spot and Nancy’Os just has to be resurrected – some of the best food and entertainment in town!
What a tragedy. I agree the old wooden buildings downtown are quickly disappearing to fires – the biggest risk to old structures.
