Thieves Target Gun Shop
Prince George, B.C. – For the third time in the last five weeks, a local gun shop has been targeted by thieves.
The latest heist occurred early yesterday, when police say they received a report of a break and enter in progress at Nechako Outdoors on Vance Road.
Corporal Craig Douglass says the suspects managed to flee with approximately 20 guns in a white pick-up, which police believe was stolen from a home on Van Bien Avenue earlier that morning.
He says a Dodge Charger, also believed to be involved in the crime, was found later that afternoon on the 1900 block of Strathcona Avenue.
Douglass says an investigation yielded two of the stolen guns and led to the arrest of 23 year old Calgary resident Kurtis Fendrick who now faces the following charges:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Possession of a Firearm without a Licence
Knowingly in Possession of a Firearm while Unauthorized
Fendrick will be held in custody until his next court appearance next Monday but investigators are continuing their search for the stolen pick-up and remaining guns.
The pick up is described as:
A white, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado
2 door extended cab pick-up with rear suicide doors
4X4 sticker on the side
BC licence plate CJ9691
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
