Prince George, B.C. – The unmistakable smell of forest fires is in the air once again, with one fire reported within the Prince George Fire Centre.

The Little Bobtail Lake fire is burning 10 kilometres south of Norman Lake.  The Wildfire Management Branch says the fire was discovered on Saturday and covers approximately 20 hectares.  At this time the fire is uncontained and work is underway to put fire guards up.  Smoke is visible from Highway 16 west.

There are 20 firefighters, one helicopter and four pieces of heavy equipment fighting the fire, with additional firefighters expected on site today.  The cause of the Little Bobtail Lake fire is under investigation.  It is not an interface fire.
