Prince George, B.C. – $468,233.  That is the total amount of money raised by the people of Prince George so far in the Canadian Cancer Society’s 2015 Prince George Relay For Life.

The 24-hour relay, the only such cancer relay of its kind in the entire country, came to a close at Masich Place Stadium this morning, with the big announcement of the fundraising total.   However, that will not be the final total from this year’s event.

Helen Owen, Team Lead, Community Giving for the B.C. and Yukon Division of the Canadian Cancer Society, says some of the 135 teams registered for this year’s relay have more fundraising events planned between now and the end of the year.  So that final number will close in on this year’s fundraising goal of $550,000.
